I Can Help You Get Your Life Back

Conditions I Treat

Early Treatment Leads To Better Results

Depression

Depression is an insidious and difficult, disabling disease that affects every aspect of life. Early and robust treatment with a strong emphasis on underlying stressors causing the depression is key. Not every patient needs medication; unfortunately, most patients wait too long and develop severe depression, making it necessary to employ all treatment avenues. Depression is on the rise as work demands increase and “me time” to recover decreases.

Bipolar Disorder

Diagnosing bipolar disorder is systemic by your psychiatrist and can be heartbreaking as a diagnosis. With moods going up and down, judgement and productivity are most affected. We can treat bipolar illness to a point of remission easily if family, patient and psychiatrist work together as a team. It is often easier to treat if treatment is sought early and compliance is maintained.

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety is welcome in small, contained amounts that increase our drive to work and succeed. When it interferes with sleep and appetite, it must be treated. Anxiety can destabilize physical health processes. Again, not every anxiety type needs medication, but a combination of therapy and medication decreases recovery time.

Psychosis

Psychosis is loss of touch with reality and can happen in any disorder with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety or just plain psychosis. First breaks must be treated aggressively and early to decrease a recurrence. Psychotic disorders can make people non-functional as it is difficult to judge situations when psychotic. New medications are working towards better recovery and less side effects.

physician-well-being

Physician Well Being

We are now seeing more and more physicians seek help for stress. It is anticipated that we lose 400 physicians per year to suicide. Physicians are sensitive, conscientious and do not like asking for help. If you are a physician in distress regarding your family, career or economics, please ask for help as it is a very treatable stress.

The Technology World

My MBA taught me a lot about business and its culture, demands and productivity. Technology brings its own stressors that create anxiety and depression, sometimes even psychosis. Reaching out to a psychiatrist who understands this world can create a seamless transition into you needs.

Religious and Cultural Sensitivity

The population in California is diverse. It creates a new need for your psychiatrist to understand your culture and not call it a disease process. I have extensive experience in treating Asian and Hispanic populations, having lived in the area for over 25 years.
